THE HEIRESS : A truly great motion picture

This film review is dedicated to Cristina,my wife.

It is a well-known fact that love, mainly love relationships,is not an easy way.As the saying goes ´Not all that glitters is gold'.Sometimes, although it appears to be weird, not everybody has the same outlook.Unfortunately, there are also economic or personal interests, although finally love is tougher than money. However,in some case is possible really late. The Heiress is totally a mirror of this reality situation.

This unforgettable film is a 1949 American drama film.It is fabulously directed by William Wyler. The Heiress is based from their 1947 play, which in turn is an adaptation from the Washington square novel in 1880 and it is written by Henry James. The film received countless awards and nominations, over all 4 academy awards for main female actress Olivia de Havilland, best director, best costume designer score and best original score. In United States is considered as a culturally, historically and aesthetically significant.

1850,Catherine Sloper 8O (Olivia de Havilland) lives with her father (Ralph Richardson) who held responsible for the death of his mother, which it is easy due to her fragile personality and low self-esteem.One day,Morris Townsend (Montgomery Cliff),a handsome guy,who courts the young Catherine. At first glance it seems to be healthy attraction. But,this fact is not the case taking into account he knows that she will get an important inherit. So,Catherine falls madly in love with Morris and they plan so marry. However,Catherine's father is reluctant to this relationship and he forgiven her to see Morris. The strength of this film is its un expected ending, without a doubt whatsoever.

To conclude, this film proves to be compelling and enthralling given that his director seems to know human behaviors perfectly. You must watch The Heiress, despite its pessimistic-yet thouthful vision about human selfishness beings....  Only your heart can grasp the full greatness of these starts...This story!
