THE WIZARD of OZ : A classic film

The film The Wizard of OZ is one of the most important in the history of the cinema,which was based in an children’s novel by l.Frank Baum.This film was the first babyish book where there were real characters and places of USA.

The story takes place in Kansas,where Dorothy lives.While she is at home there is a twister and she goes to a wonderful place with amazing characters,like witches or flying monkeys.                                                                            

There,Dorothy wants  to come back to Kansas and decides to go to the Wizard of OZ’s palace because he is only person can help her,during the journey  she meets three new friends,which are the scarecrow who wants a brain,the cowardly lion who needs courage and the tin woodman who desires a heart.

There are a lot of plays in the theatres about this film.Besides this film is translated in a big number of languages.

If you want to watch a fantastic fable,you’ll enjoy with the Wizard of OZ.The ending is amazing and great,and you’ll always remember its unforgettable soundtrack.Don’t miss your chance to watch this classic masterpieces.Furtheremore,I’m sure you’re  going to choose your favourite character between the lion,the tim woodman,the scarecrow or Dorothy.

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL : Amazing, fun, yet dramatic fable

‘Life is beautiful’ is  fabulously directed and interpreted by Roberto Benigni who plays the role of Guido Orefice. This film received countless awards like three Academy Awards (thebest film, best actor and the best foreign film), other than  several international awards.

This film is set in Italy in 1939,when Guido arrives at his uncle’s house in Arezzo  in order to work in a hotel. There he meets  Dora, a beautiful Italian teacher, brilliantly played by Nicolleta Braschi (Roberto Benigni’s real-life wife) and he immediately falls in love with her.

The film is clearly divided in two parts, in the first one, there are plenty of different funny situations between Guido and Dora, and then they get married and have a little son, Giosue. In this second part, Guido and Giosue, are sent to a  concentration camp given that they are Jews. Dora decides to go with them to be with her family, but they end up separatedsoon as they arrive there.       

Despite this horrible situation, Guido makes up an ingenious story for his son not to realize the horrible place they are in and the atrocities they are surrounded by. He tells his son that they are participating in a contest to win a tank, so that he doesn’t suffer and to smooth his stay in the concentration camp. Through the eyes of the innocent Guido, we can witness the horrible situation that Jews experienced during Nazi holocaust. Unbeknownst to him, however, his parents are undergoing a gruelling experience.

‘Life is Beautiful’ is a film well worth seeing. It is a highly entertaining film and it is bound to keep the viewers absorbed from the beginning to the end, especially thanks to its unforgettable soundtrack, arranged by Noa, which you will never forget .If I were in your shoes, I would not hesitate and I would definitely watch this charming, yet heart-renderingfilm. In my case, I can recall every scene of this masterpiece by heart.

ONCE UPON A TIME.....

'I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship'....as Humphrey Bogard said in Casablanca. I hope this humble blog will be a nice relation between English and movies,which are two of my favourite hobbies.

I'll try to write reviews about famous movies that I've watched previously.
