Over the course of this blog,I have commented about amazing and unforgettable actors,although I’m sure I have forgotten some relevant of them,but I’ll write about them in forthcoming posts.In this review,I’d like to give my humble recognition to Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster.It’s crystal clear that The Silence of the lambs could be their masterpiece.
The Silence of The Lambs is a psicological horror film.This American production movie was directed by Jonathan Demme and written by Ted Tally in 1991.To the acknowledge audience,It’s fair to point out that this film fright was adapted from a novel by Thomas Harris’s,three years before.It’s absolutely clear that we are talking about one of the greatest and influential films,and the role of Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins are always on the tip of the iceberg of cinema lovers.Additionally,The Silent of the lambs won the Academy Awards in all the cornerstone of five best categories
(Best Picture,Director,Actor,Actress and Best adapted screenplay) in spite of its lower budget.
Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster) works as psychiatrist.During her first instruction days,Jack Crawford (Scott Glenn) asks for Clarice to interview at the cannibalistic serial killer,Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins).The purpose of this visit is to get information regarding another serial murderer with nickname ‘Buffalo Bill’,whose Lecter might have information about him.When Clarice arrives to Lecter’s cell,she initially finds Lecter in courteous way,but he ends up having disagreeadable attitude.Despite diverse questions and evidences,Clarice decides to continue with the investigation,but she has to come back to Lecter’s cell,where the situation becomes really dangerous.
Simply put,the greatest Serial killer Thriller ever made with a legendary timeless performance by Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins.This film defined Anthony Hopkins career.It’s one of the best crime investigation movies I’ve ever seen.The way the film approaches to the psychology of serial killers,more specifically cannibals,is fantastic.I strongly recommend.
