Honestly, mystery is my favourite genre.Reading a enigma novel or watching an interesting moviing picture are an impressive hobby. It’s a well-known fact that waiting to the guilt for any murder is absolutely astonishing. These days,in our present society, where there are a plenty of unfair and unresolved cases would we need Agatha Christie to clarify them, wouldn’t it?.
Based on an Agatha Christie’s novel,in 2017 Kenneth Branagh directed Murder on the Orient Express. This mystery film is the last adaptation of this famous writer, which has been played on the screenplay for several periods. In this adaption, its cast is its strong point,Tom Bateman,Willem Defoe,Johnny Depp or Michelle Pfeiffer among others make this film a huge demand for the audience and principally with the role of Kenneth Branagh portraying Hercule Poirot. It’s remarkable to point out that this adaptation received diverse reviews. It’s crystal clear that its performance and production were successful, yet some of them, believed that it was the worst adaptation.Last but not least,in 2022,it was released a sequel,Death on the Nile.
After solving an enigmatic case at the Church of the Holy Sepulture in Jerusalem, the well-known detective Hercules Poirot (Kenneth Branagh) wants to travel to Istanbul to rest, however,he must move his idea and come back to London to figure out another case,Poirot travels on the famous railway with his friend and Orient Espress director,Bouc (Tom Bateman). There, there are peculiar and totally different passengers…and really suspicious,American Widow, businessman, elderly Russian,Hungarian diplomat,a governess or an Austrian university professor among others. The next morning,it was discovered that the American businessman is murdered, for Poirot all of them could be guilty.Yet,all evidences involve that this murder hasn’t been committed by one person,to Piorot not everything is black or white in the Orient Express.
Fantastic film, this is a truly a modern classic.A great retelling of Christie’s murder mystery.Branagh is a excellent as Poirot,as are the rest of the cast in their roles. The visual are simply stunning, this is a must see for anyone that loves classic titles. The film doesn’t deserve the poor reviews it has received.
