Around history,there are a plenty of dramatic facts.Wars,murders,nuclear atacks.Yet,the Nazi Holocaust was something difficult to forget.Thousand of inocent people suffered and were killed unfairless.Nowadays,this horrible crime still doesn’t have an explication.We are in a advance society and I hope,at least that some radical governments had learned about this masacre and it will never happen again.Needless to say that Steven Spielberg masterfully showed this drama in his film.
Schindler’s List is a historical and drama film.This American blockbuster was directed by Steven Spielberg and written by Steven Zaillian in 1993.This movie is based on a novel Schindler’s Ark which was written by Thomas Keneally.Schindler’s List was shoot in black and white and a as a documentary.According to the director,this one was due to create a sense of timelessness.There is not doubt that its success was complete.Not only received it countless awards,especially twelve Academy awards nominations winning six of them,but also it was recognised all over the world.Furthermore,Schindler’s List is on the list of the 100 best American films of all time,and it is considered as a culturally,historically and aesthetically significant by the Library Congress.To Spielberg,this film was a turning point.We were getting used to seeing them directing fantastic and adventure films but Schinder’s List was totally different.In Fact,after presentation,Spielberg said that ‘I was hit in the face with my personal life.Jewish life came pouring back into my heart.I cried all the time’
During II World War,the Nazis force to Polish Jews to live in a ghetto.Oskar Schindler,a German Nazi party member,arrives in the city to achieve a huge fortune in his business.To work,he hires Jews workers because his salaries are lower.Yet,the situation changed when Amon Goth ,second lieutenant,arrives in Poland.He decides to eliminate he Guetto,and send Jews to the death camp and the rest will be killed.Schindler is affected by this massacre.Despite he has a good relationship with Goth,he considered that this brutalize must be finished.Schindler’s first idea shifts from making money to trying to save as lives as possible.
Steven Spielberg’s triumphant Schindler’s List is a remarkable and moving memorial to an historical Holocaust.It is also a timely reminder of what genocide and ‘ethnic cleansing’really mean.It is absolutely clear that it is a masterpiece.
